Hannah's Story

Hannah's Story

In April of 2019, a few odd symptoms led me to a walk in clinic which turned into an overnight hospitalization after learning that I had less than 2,000 platelets. Since then, I've been in and out of doctor's appointments and on different treatments, unsure yet whether or not I will be dealing with this chronically. I've had some ups and downs with my platelets over the last month, but rarely ever going above 10,000. As I write, I'm sitting around 4,000 and will most likely be moving to IVIG soon, because prednisone has not been effective for me. Before my diagnosis, I was running every day and hadn't been sick in years. As an otherwise very healthy college student, ITP felt like the most random thing to possibly happen to me. Now I am hoping for the best for my recovery, and documenting my experience through my blog https://intheplenitude.home.blog/
