Hi, I’m Tanya, a 20 yr old Indian, diagnosed with ITP almost a year back. I started noticing random bruises on my legs and chest, told my mum about it and she rushed me to the hospital, they ran a lot of test and finally concluded I have ITP, I was in the danger zone with only 15k platelets, I was on prednisone for 3 months, it seemed to be working, until I was in the danger zone once again with a count of 9k, they put me on Eltrombopag, and I’ve been on it for about 10 months now. Within a year, I’ve been on a roller coaster with looking out for symptoms and handling the side effects from the medicines. There are days when my body refuses to leave the bed, there are days when I’m back in danger zone but art has always been on my side and kept me going.
