Having a chronic illness means, I generally have to adjust to the demands of my condition. One of these adjustments is dealing with the fatigue that tends to come and go. In the early days, I use to try to fight the fatigue however; I have learned over the years that surrendering to it has been of greater benefit in regards to a faster recover time (when I say recovery I do not mean cured just an increase of platelets that are at a safe level). So what can you do you when your levels are low? Well actually not too much, however luckily for me I do not mind a bit of relax time. They also say stick with what you are good at and binge watching TV is something I can most certainly do extremely well. Although there is nothing, worse than putting on your comfy gear, grabbing yourself some snacks and drinks then not being able to decide what show is worthy of your time. Therefore seeming as I have much experience in this area I thought I would do you all a favour and put together my top 10 shows to watch.
13 Reason’s Why
I honestly was not sure that I was going to like this however seeming as it had a lot of hype I had to make sure I was not the only person who had not seen it. This show brought back so many high school memories that I was all too eager to forget – teenagers are arseholes! However, I honestly love, love, loved it. Watch season one and two on Netflix Now!
The Founder
I really enjoy movies based on true events and I do enjoy myself some macca’s so I was very curious on how the whole MacDonald’s empire came about. I watched this movie on Stan and was mind blown – I somewhat found it inspirational however once again it showed me that people are arseholes. However still a must see.
The Vikings
OMG – I am not sure why I enjoyed this as much as I did. Maybe it was the outfits, maybe it was the sexy cast or maybe I just loved all the action. Although I have to say, season three did tend to fizzle out however season 4 has just come out on Netflix and I was pretty happy with the way they brought it back.
The Haunting of Hill House
Well Hello – I do not mind a good scare and this had me jumping from my couch. I did read reviews where people said it made them vomit (these people obviously have stomach issues because although it was scary ain’t nobody vomiting from this show). I was addicted, had to watch it before work, after work and on the weekend until I got to the end – I craved the ending so bad. It is my new fav available on Netflix.
Brain on Fire
Ok so this has been out for a while now and if you have not already seen it you need to watch it! Again based on a true story. For me this movie really displayed the importance of family and a good doctor. I do not want to spoil it however if you have an autoimmune disease you may find this relatable. Available on Netflix.
Dynasty
Who runs the world? Girls! Seriously, I am infatuated with Fallon Carrington – smart, sexy and powerful. I wish I lived her lifestyle and maybe that is why I liked this show so much. It is a fantasy world for me. Super addictive and worth a watch – on Netflix.
Queen of the South
I bi-passed this so many times when scrolling through my Netflix – thinking to myself I do not want to watch some stupid crime solving show. However, someone from work encouraged me to watch it and oh my, was I impressed. I was hooked after the first episode + it is not really a crime show it is more about the drug cartel – gotta say, it is a bloody ripper of a show and I cannot wait for season 3. Again #girlpower
No Escape
Did someone say action? Because this is, action packed. I was like oh shit, fuck, no; get the fuck out of there! This is one of those movies where you picture yourself in the movie and think, “what would you do”. Personally, I do not know if I would survive – I have got too much anxiety to think fast on my feet. This is available on Stan.
Survivors Guide to Prison
What the Fudge! This is more of a documentary, which usually I am not into however I could not turn away. This show has been out for a while now however I have only just noticed it and I was like “there is no place like home”. Thankfully I live in Australia, although I am supposed to be visiting America soon – yeep! Maybe I need to watch this again so I know my rights. Available on Netflix.
You
Literally just wrapped this up. One of the ladies from work recommended it. Great recommendation! I was intrigued. Kind of creep meets Price Charming. Worth a view. Available on Netflix.
